HP Designjet 510 Review.

We at Plotter Print have just completed our latest review on the HP Designjet 510.

HP's most affordable standalone printer for small studios, the new HP Designjet 510 Printer series enables you to print large format CAD drawings in-house. Achieve high-impact results quickly and easily with fine line and excellent image quality. An ideal choice for technical users (including AEC, MCAD, GIS, and GPP) in workgroups of up to 3 people in small studios, who need an affordable, professional printing solution to produce high quality, large format technical CAD drawings in-house.

Plotter Print Review

The HP DesignJet 510 A1 plotter is a low cost entry level printer for low volume CAD plotting. The 510 uses a dye black for use onto un-coated CAD papers but the lack of  the pigment black means use of photo papers is limited with low quality photo output. The HP 510 is the slowest plotter in its class compared to the Canon iPF605 and other units available and  the design hasn't changed since the HP500 which has been around for a very long time. The 510 is supplied with only 4 x 28ml ink cartridges which results in  high running costs with disposable heads. What else lets this plotter down is having no network card built in just as an option leaving only a USB connection to print from. We recommend this printer is used for very low volume. mono CAD prints (line work) onto un-coated paper.
